“LIFT” is a modernized version of “Lift Every Voice and Sing” which has been historically declared the Black National Anthem. “Lift” was produced by artist/production team “The Revolt” which is comprised of “ACG” & “MA1”. “Lift” features the soulful vocals of singer “Lisa Phillips” accompanied with background vocals from up and coming artist “Wendell”. “Lift” is an homage to the original song “Lift Every Voice and Sing” which was originally written by James Weldon Johnson in 1906 and composed into actual music by J. Rosamond Johnson in 1905.
The relevance of “Lift” comes at a crucial and turbulent time as Black People are relentlessly fighting for global justice and equality in 2020. “LIFT” also features a powerful video that creatively details the epic history of Black People, from its powerful glory to its horrific trials and tribulations, victories and continuous fight. It features significant historic and modern-day figures that have contributed to the overall struggle and fight from history to present day. “LIFT” was Directed, Produced and Executively Produced by Janol “MECCA” Holmes and edited by Oise Forel.
“LIFT” is featured on the upcoming compilation “The Red Card Music Project: Volume 1”, which comes as a creative partnership between SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD and SUPERNATURAL INC.
